HOLLYWOOD, FL – Brean Capital’s Head of Investment Banking, Peter McNierney, recently participated in a panel discussion at the annual Funders Forum + Brokers Expo in Hollywood, Florida. This industry-leading conference brought together a diverse group of the sector’s top CEOs, strategists, policy makers and regulators for networking, thought leadership and professional development.
The panel was comprised of prominent institutional investors and capital markets professionals to share their expertise and insights on the state of financing and M&A in the small business finance industry. The engaging session focused on the current state of the senior debt and securitization markets, the availability and pricing of subordinated debt and the outlook for equity valuations and the M&A market for the sector. Mr. McNierney stated, “The debt markets have really opened up in 2024 after two choppy years since the start of the Fed’s increase in rates. This increase in availability will allow market participants to expand their capital base while lowering their cost of capital and will eventually result in improved equity valuations and continued consolidation of this fragmented sector.”
